The Tension: COVID19 & Resurrection

Written by Scott Herrold. Posted in Uncategorized

There’s a lot on our listener’s mind this week. It’s Holy Week, it’s spring break and the news keeps telling our families to freak out about getting sick. You may be ONLY person in your listener’s life consistently reminding her about what real hope is this week! Be strategic with your camera angles and show her that you are right here with her, dealing with the same tension she is. Hebrews 11:1-3 reminds us, “Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.”

Many of our government experts say the next few weeks will get worse before they get better. So what? Worrying about all the WHAT IF’s will drive you crazy. Let’s own the fact that we are already living through serious disruption, so figure out where the catalyst of your fear lies and pray specifically about that. Give it over to God, because Jesus has already walked with us through tough season of our life, so why would this week be any different for Him?

This week is Passover, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. These are the biggest game changers our world has ever seen! Share those stories and explain the personal relationship you have with Jesus. Focus on the power of resurrection. Be a life giver. Be an encouragement. Surround your listeners with things that are helpful and hopeful. Share your own stories and show how you are tangibly living life with them. (We’re walking through the same tensions, concerns and feelings, but I have hope because of what Jesus did on the cross for me and my family!)
